Wigan’s new Civic
Working with Wigan Council and Capital & Centric, we completed the refurbishment of the 50,000 sq ft building that is Wigan Civic Centre. Delivering aspirational office accommodation to stimulate economic growth with the goal to create a lasting social impact in Wigan. In addition to exemplar market-leading workspace, amenities include a rooftop terrace, mini cinema, gym studio and co-working/coffee shop space.
A key to the project was to create a space that supports and nurtures start-ups, stimulates innovation and provides space for the natural growth and progression of businesses. We refurbished this development whilst retaining and repurposing the existing building and brutalist features.
With sustainability at the core of the design, we worked to achieve CCS excellence and BREEAM excellent compliance as part of the build and ensured the project included vibrant, eco friendly landscaping, with rich greenery and sustainable planting.
