How can I get the most out of my new workspace?

There's always a way to squeeze more out of a workspace and we've got hundreds of tips, tweaks and techniques we can use to help you get the most from your new – or existing – premises.

What does design and build mean?

Design and build is where we take the project from the planning phase, right through to implementation. We'll get together with you and put together a brief for what you're looking for in a workspace.

From this, we create a bespoke plan for your new premises, tailored to your exact needs. We will personally manage the entire project from concept through to delivery for you so there is no need for you to deal with numerous companies for a range of different services. In doing this we can deliver significant savings and get the job done much quicker.

What is space planning?

Space planning is simply a way of getting the most out of your new work space. Once you've decided on a new premises, we'll conduct surveys to ensure you're getting the most out of your space and how best to ergonomically accommodate your set-up.

We can also take into account plans for future growth to ensure your business can comfortably grow into its new workspace.

Can you refit our current office?

Absolutely. We can cater for jobs of all shapes and sizes. Whether you want a full refit or are just looking to spruce up parts of your workplace – we're happy to help.

How much will it cost?

Since no two projects are the same, we approach each on a case-by-case basis. We're committed to getting the most out of the budget you have available and can provide numerous options to ensure you're getting the best value.

If you're generally aware of what it is you're looking for, simply get in touch and we can provide a ballpark figure of likely costs for a project.

How long does a fit out take?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer for this, but once we get a handle on the size and scale of your project, we'll be able to quickly assess likely timescales. If you've any specific deadlines, we can look at ways to accelerate timescales.

My business needs to carry on during the project – how will you minimise disruption?

There's several ways to reduce the impact of fit-out projects and we're more than happy to work evenings or weekends to mitigate the project's effects on the day-to-day running of your business.

Can you help us move office?

Absolutely. We can provide whatever degree of assistance you need – from simply helping to pack up, to moving furniture and equipment. We can also arrange storage facilities if needs be and we're happy to work evenings and weekends to minimise disruption.

Workspace Design & Build are part of the Safecontractor database – the UK’s leading Health and Safety Assessment Scheme. This ensures we deliver best practice and have reliable systems in place to effectively manage our health and safety obligations.

Where in the country can you carry out workspace fit out projects?

We can carry out workspace fit out projects anywhere in the mainland UK, including Scotland and Wales.

What happens after the project's over?

We're committed to providing comprehensive support after the end of the project and will be on-hand to provide additional help as the needs of your business evolve.

Whether you need run-of-the-mill maintenance or require urgent help with a problem – we'll be there.

We can also institute a proactive programme of maintenance at pre-defined intervals to help head-off any potential problems before they become major issues.

What does CDM mean?

CDM stands for Construction Design Management and refers to regulations surrounding most forms of building and engineering works.

To briefly summarise, the Health and Safety Executive will need to be notified in advance of major construction works and a CDM coordinator will need to be appointed. We can handle this and take on all responsibility for meeting obligations in regard to CDM regulations.

Our lease is up soon, should we move or refurbish our current premises?

How you should move forward is dependent on a number of factors, including your company's plans in the short and long term.

We're committed to working with you to find the best solution to suit your needs and can provide bespoke advice on the innumerable factors that will influence your decision, such as lease arrangements, dilapidations and the costs for both options.

Can you supply office furniture directly?

Yes, and since we've got great contacts among leading furniture manufacturers, we can probably get you a better deal than if you tried to source it all yourself. Whether you're looking for cutting-edge kit or vintage classics – we can help.

Can you install our new office furniture?

Yes. You've probably got enough on your plate with the logistics of moving your company from one premises to another without having to worry about installation. Our professional team will get your kit in place, make sure the installation is compliant with health and safety regulations, as well as offering suggestions on ergonomics and getting the most out of your space.

Can you dispose of furniture we don't need?

Of course. We're happy to remove any items you don't need and take them to be recycled.

Can you provide help with IT and telecoms?

While we don't offer in-house IT and telecoms services, we work with a number of trusted partners and are more than happy to manage all the logistics of getting you set up at your new premises.

Can you help with financing my office move?

We know that cash flow is a key concern for many SMEs and can provide assistance in making a business case to a range of lenders.
